This is a show with a prospect to deliver, consisting of Nigeria's Finest. It promises to be the most exclusive music and dance event this year. The New year celebration will open with a bang! and hopefully, we are not going to witness the start of one or two of the first controversial moments this year. Critically, it may or may not be as bad as Steve Harvey crowning the wrong Miss world contestant. Now moving unto the matter at hand as to the organization and planning. I am a fan of Kaffy, mehn that fine lady can dance for Africa, and i hope she will stun us with an amazing performance and the man behind and beside her, somebody we all know who speaks
with authority and affluence on the comedy stage,Bovi.
Now the Nominies have been picked, the Die has been cast, and votes are taking place as at the hour of typing this report, and if you have not voted, you had better report to hiphopworldmagazine.com/theheadies/voting-for-headies-2015/ to cast your vote.
Now lets give a 2015 Bio of our Major Nominies ( Nominies which were voted in more than one catigory):
Wizkid - With his mega hit :Ojuelegba , this track has been blowing the airways and has enjoyed remixes from Drake and Skepta. It has a nice baseline, lead with a sing along theme and cool rhythm to it. The song is nominated for best recording of the year, production of the year, best pop single, song of the year and Wizkid kimself is nominated for Artiste of the year. Wiz kid never fails to impress year in year out, as he just might be the one to bag it all today!
Olamide- "E ni omo wobe!!" this word is definately a household name as even non yoruba citizens, definately want to find out the meaning of the sentence. Well the writer does not know how to translate, but he is definately open to any translation of the sentence in the comment box, as we want to concentrate on the hard worker Olamide Badoo. Now this Nigerian Icon is a person you might say as a young baby, the vaccine of music was injected into his blood and now everything he touches turns into gold. He has done loads and loads of colabo's and also produced an album in the year under review, so he deserves to be recognized if not for anything, for his hardwork. and for crying out loud, He has the Bobo dance.!!
DonJazzy/Korede - GodWin will still remain one of the most popular universal songs of all times typically used for uplifting Nigerians and giving them hope for a better Nigeria, an with this classic tune earned Mr korede Bello a performance in Aso villa on the Inauguration of the New President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. (ahh if only Dj cuppy will agree to be my celebrity girlfriend). Its gonna be a tight battle but right now, I do not think i can brush my teeth without shouting God Win!!
Timi Dakolo - Well Timi, I once sat in your live Performance, when you performed the we believe in Nigeria song, and I was almost moved to tears, you have what I call vocal dexterity an you are willing to take on the Nigerian music industry head on, because of the slow patronage of your kind of music by Nigerians. I believe most of us would like to be like you when we grow up, and you could teach our political leaders a thing or two about being true to their values. Great song there, Wish me well. Personally i enjoyed the video with the whole American West concept, felt like a sound track to a movie. I wish you well in this headies and i hope the readers of this post will wish you well too,
Kiss Daniel- Mr Woju and Mr Laye. You gave us a new sound in the year under review and you brought together a fuse of african and soul and made us dance, For originality i think i will vote for you all the way, Kip it up!
MI - The Chairman!! Mehnn Bros! I was xpecting MI3 like the conventional hit banging Album names we are used to and you as the Chairman came and took us by storm with your bullion van. Well i cant say much as the lyrics remain eva tight. with a freshness and depth to your songs.
Praiz- Nigerian John Legend, take it away!! They asked whether he was going to excel, since he sings mostly RndB but Praiz has by far been successful in fusing RnB with contemporary African Drums. With hits like Sisi, Heartbeat and If i fall. His album is the best Album of the year by my standards.
Simi - That fine girl with a killa video. Mehn! your voice can sweet o! you can cerenade a man to marriage. The headies is yours for the snatching.
Bez- That kid on the block that never says much but needs to be watched. Bez is the guy that brought in a new seed into the game, and he may just steal the bone away from the big dogs.
